Getting My Parking Permit
As an Employee of IUPUI you have several parking options to choose from. But before your order your permit, there are just a couple of things you should do or confirm before trying to order your permit online or visiting us in the office.
1) Before we can issue your permit, you must appear as an ‘Active’ employee in our parking system. That means all of your hire paperwork has been completed and approved through the University HR system. Please check your employment status prior to visiting us. Just click here, and if you appear as ‘Active,’ come and get your parking permit and skip to #2 below!
If your status appears as ‘inactive’, then our system won’t recognize you. Please wait 24 hours and check your status again, or you may contact your supervisor to ensure all of your hire paperwork was completed.
If you visit us in the office to purchase your permit, you will need a Permit Application form. Have that with you when you visit us.
3) Regardless of whether you order online or visit us in the office, you will need all of your vehicle information, including your license plate number. We cannot issue you a permit without your plate number!

How do I know which permit to choose?
You’ll have a couple of different permit options to select from, so familiarize yourself with the different permit options available to you, and select the one that will be the most beneficial for your campus needs. Click to view a campus map. You’ll want to give consideration to the days you’ll be on campus, what times you will be on campus, and especially where your building is located.

What if there is a waiting list for the permit I want?
If there is a waiting list for the permit you would like, you will have to select another option until your preferred permit type becomes available. You may add your name to any waiting list by visiting Manage My Account. You will be contacted via email should a space become available. If you are interested in a garage permit and don’t see it as an option online, contact us at email@example.com.

I’m renewing my permit – what should I do?
Permits for the following fiscal year normally go online around mid-June. At this time permits don’t automatically renew. Each year you will need to visit Manage My Account and order a new permit for the upcoming year. Information will be posted on the website in addition to Facebook and Twitter.
When ordering your permit online, you will see all of the options available for you to purchase. If a permit has a waiting list, you won’t see that as an option, unless you currently have that permit. For example, our most popular garage is the Riley Garage so there is always a waiting list. But if you have that permit already, you will see that as an option for you and you may purchase it again. If you don’t currently have a Riley Garage permit, you won’t see that as an option.
If I order my permit online how long does it take?
Your new permit should arrive within ten business days. After you place your permit order online, you will be prompted to print a temporary permit. Don’t forget to print it! But don’t worry, it will also be emailed.
If you do not receive your permanent permit in the mail by the time your temporary permit expires, don’t park illegally! You could receive a citation. Come and visit us in the office. We can issue you a new permit and mark the permit that did not arrive as missing. We’ve got you covered!
