  • Once the amount due appears on the screen, insert the validation ticket
    • If a balance is due, swipe credit/debit card to apply payment*

FAQ

Q: How much do validation tickets cost?
A: Validation tickets are issued at no cost. Parking costs are assessed once a customer uses a validation ticket for parking. Validation ticket usage is billed on a monthly basis.

Q: Who can order validations?
A: Validations can be requested by departments with an IU departmental account number or IU Health cost center number.

Q: Should validation tickets be safeguarded once received?
A: Yes. Validation tickets have a monetary value and as such should be treated like cash. Controls should be implemented to protect your inventory.

Q: The Validation Ticket Order form, used for requesting more validation tickets, does not ask for an account number, why is that?
A: Account information was provided in the initial request for a parking validation and is tied to your department’s validation number. To update the account/cost center number, please email our office at validate@iupui.edu. Multiple validation numbers can be assigned to your department if multiple account/cost center numbers need to be used.

Q: We are currently covering 100% of the parking costs for our guests. How do we decrease this amount?
A: Send an email to validate@iupui.edu. We will update your validation to reflect the new amount.

Q: How do I know when validations expire?
A: Every order of validation tickets comes with a batch report that provides the expiration date. Validation tickets are set to expire one year after print date unless a shorter span of time is requested.

Q: What happens when a validation ticket becomes damaged and does not work in the garage?
A: No problem! We will accept the validation ticket from the customer and will bill the amount due to the department.

Q: Should we let our guests know what their validation is worth?
A: Absolutely. This will enable guests to be prepared with payment if a balance is due.

Q: Can our department issue validation tickets to employees?
A: Validation tickets are considered a benefit that allows departments to offer discounted parking to their guests. Employees are eligible to purchase a parking permit.

Q: What do we do if validation tickets come up missing?
A: When picking up your department’s validation order we recommend that you count and confirm your order before signing the order form. If at any time you find that tickets are missing please notify our office at validate@iupui.edu. We will check the tickets to make sure that they have not been used and if they are unused we will deactivate the tickets.

Q: Who in our department is authorized to pick up our validation ticket order?
A: When completing the order form you will note who is authorized to pick up the validation ticket order. The authorized individual will need to bring a picture ID (JagTag, driver’s license, etc.). Please provide our office with advance notice if another individual within your department will be picking up the order. We want to keep your order secure and as such we can only release your order to authorized representatives.

Q: What happens when one of our guests loses their entry ticket?
A: The entry ticket (ticket pulled at garage entry) is marked with the entry date and time. Without this information we cannot determine the amount due. In this instance, the department is billed the lost garage ticket fee. Click here for current visitor rates.
