Vendors performing work on a regular basis for university departments are eligible to purchase VN permits.
Contractors working on campus construction projects are able to park at 1302 Indiana Avenue with the purchase of North Campus (NC) permits. The project foreman may have the option of purchasing a VN permit (limit of 2).
Before permits can be purchased, companies will need to obtain authorization. Acceptable documentation includes one of the following:
- Letter from the university department.
- Kick-off meeting form.
- Request from Capital Planning and Facilities Office or Campus Facility Services.
Permits are purchased in the Parking and Transportation Services office located at 1004 W Vermont St.

Departments are able to obtain permits for University vehicles and for their employees permforming work duties around campus.

Terms and Conditions: - UV permits are for use in university-owned vehicles only and should not be used in a personal vehicle at any time.
- UV permits found in personal vehicles may be subject to citations
- UV permits should not be used to swipe other vehicles in/out of garages
- Proper usage of the permit in a garage requires a corresponding swipe out of the permit for every swipe into the garage, i.e., do not pull a ticket upon entry to a garage.
- University vehicles must park legally and in accordance with IUPUI Parking Rules & Regulations. Parking in areas that may create a hazard or interferes with access to University facilities is prohibited and will be subject to citations.
- Citations are the responsibility of the department and will be billed to the account number on file.
- UV permits are issued on an annual basis and must be renewed each year.
- Requests for UV permits will require completion of a Permit Order Form to include the following information:
- Vehicle make and model, the university vehicle number, and the license plate information.
- The name of the manager or supervisor responsible for the permit.
- IU / IU Health account number for any citations issued to the university vehicle.
- Acknowledgement of guidelines, terms and conditions by Fiscal Officer.
- Lost or stolen UV permits should be reported by the department manager or supervisor immediately to Parking & Transportation Services for deactivation. Requests for replacement permits will require a new form completed by the Fiscal Officer.
- Monthly activity reports will be generated by Parking & Transportation Services to monitor usage and to ensure the UV permit is being used in accordance with all rules and regulations.
- The Fiscal Officer will be notified of any discrepancies or potential misuse found through the monthly report process. The Fiscal Officer is responsible for addressing any audit findings.
- Suspected ongoing misuse of UV permits, fraudulent use, or failure to comply with IUPUI Parking Rules & Regulations or any of the above may result in loss of permit privileges.
In order to remain in compliance, we recommend departments implement the following procedures: - Utilize a sign-in/sign-out log to track who has possession of university vehicles, carts or other conveyance vehicles and the corresponding UV permit.
- For UV permits not kept secured within a vehicle (for example, golf carts) - secure permits in a locked area, drawer, etc. with limited access.
- Utilize alternative forms of transportation such as campus shuttles or walking, when possible.

- Price: Must be paid for using a University Account - $330.48 annually.

- For up to two hours in SV spaces.
Terms and Conditions: - Departments are eligible to purchase SV permits when employees are required to:
- Use their personal vehicles to transport equipment, supplies or other goods as a part of job responsibilities.
- Perform duties at locations other than their primary work location.
- SV permits may only be used when conducting duties away from the primary work location. SV permits are not intended to be used in place of a personal permit at any time.
- When used correctly, the activity on an SV permit should reflect frequent but short durations.
- Personal permit must be displayed along with SV permit on rearview mirror.
- Proper usage of the permit in a garage requires a corresponding swipe out of the permit for every swipe into the garage.
- Vehicle must be parked legally and in accordance with IUPUI Parking Rules & Regulations. Parking in areas that may create a hazard or interferes with access to University facilities is prohibited and will be subject to citations.

Codes Garage codes allow your department or school to obtain a multi-digit number that you can provide to your visitors. Codes are charged on a per use basis at a flat rate. You can request a code by completing the Code Order Form Permits Your department or school can purchase hangtag permits for your attendees. We will work with you to determine if the permits should be designated for surface lot or garage parking. An affiliate of IU or IUPUI is a student, employee or volunteer who does research or has work duties on campus, but is not paid by the University.
To be eligible for a permit, you will need to come to our offices. Please bring with you a verification letter from the associated department or school on their letterhead.
